Expressions of interest sought for NATA’s Materials Characterisation Accreditation Advisory Committee

08 March 2018

Each accreditation program and industry (Activity Type) is covered by one of NATA’s Accreditation Advisory Committees (AAC). The AAC has a unique and important role within NATA. It provides input to operations within the relevant program and industry and advice to the Board at a technical level.

An AAC is a group of experts appointed by the Board on the basis of their knowledge and technical expertise in the area of work covered by the particular program or industry activity. Each person’s appointment is for a fixed term, these being staggered to preserve continuity within the Committee.

The need for expert representation in the area of gas testing has been identified and expressions of interest are sought from individuals having expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • analysis of gaseous hydrocarbon fuels
  • analysis of ‘specialty’ gas supplies
  • vehicle emission testing

It is highly desirable for applicants to have:

  • substantial practical experience in the industrial application of related testing methods for which they have expert knowledge;
  • demonstrated commitment to and an understanding of the principles of accreditation;
  • significant exposure to the NATA accreditation process.

The Materials Characterisation AAC is established to provide input to NATA’s Materials Testing activity in a way that represents the interests of accredited testing facilities and the broader industry.  The term of appointment for new members is 5 years.  Further information regarding involvement on the Materials Characterisation AAC may be obtained from the Technical Committees page.

Expressions of interest detailing the candidate’s experience, including a full resume, should be forwarded to the Deputy Sector Manager Infrastructure, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

The closing date for nominations is 13 April 2018.  Successful nominees will be formally invited to participate in the activities of the Materials Characterisation AAC following the approval of NATA’s Board.
